AMADA ESTABILLO X MINNOW BATHERS

Amada Estabillo’s works traverse the boundary between representation and abstraction. A variety of subjects emerge and recede in her painting and drawing: landscape, figure, weather and seasons. She aims to spontaneously uncover and expand the critical aspects of her subjects in a formal way through line, colour, pattern and space. Her materials include acrylic paint, oil stick, graphite and embroidery on raw canvas and wood panel.

Pattern explores the nostalgic interiors of Amada’s childhood.  The abstract floral motif references textiles, wallpapers, houseplants and gardens from her early memories. The bars, lines and spheres recall the play of light and shadows cast through panes of glass. These moments act as a starting point; textures and colours pass through the prism of those visual recollections and emerge as something new.  This piece is part of a private collection.

Each bather in this series is one of a kind and features a different motif from the painting, Pattern.
